
The ice on Lake Erie is melting, and every year it results in fascinating ice formations and great photos. The time of day (early afternoon) and dirty ice weren't exactly giving me great colors, so I decided to play around with the channel mixer on gimp, and was pleased to find that I could replicate the tones I used to get using a red filter with black-and-white film.
I think the horizon needs a little straightening though, and I'm not sure which software I can use...
